SELF-HELP

I can totally relate to the lessons of this book as I now realized that what kept me from fulfilling my highest potential is my fixed mindset. While it is true that we each have intrinsic genius, it is how we believe in it, hone it, and develop it consistently that will make all the difference.
This book MINDSET actually gives me hope that despite all the setbacks and the age considerations, there is still hope for self reinvention, there is room for much improvement. That it should not be a question of one having the right skill but if that one person has given consistent effort and explored all possibilities. It is not the end but the journey, not the goal but the lessons along the way.
It made me realize why I have always been consistently excellent during my schooling years and why things suddenly became difficult when scaling my career path. It is because while I was in school, my self worth was in every effort I exerted and in the delight I get with every learning. However, when I was already working, the mindset was that I am good and therefore, things should be easy. Things are not always given effortlessly though, one has to sometimes work harder and most importantly, one has to be resilient and persistent enough to achieve set goals. The focus should not be so much on the skillset but on the effort rendered. Failures should be considered a set of ladder towards a greater height.
Such concepts of fixed mindsets and growth mindsets might seem easy sometimes but it’s actually complicated to implement. The fact is we all have both mindsets and it's difficult to distinguish them unless we are aware of our values, thoughts, and triggers. We have to understand these ideas well and be conscious of how we react to things and circumstances. Only then will we be ready to make some changes so we can have better chances at success.
I love how the author gave enough examples of how a growth mindset can be implemented in our parenting, in business/ workplace, in school and in any relationship for that matter. Although this mindset could be misconstrued at times, It still proves that there will always be something we can do about improving ourselves and our lives. We just have to be willing to do it consistently with the right growth mindset.
